ODORDIGEST™ BioTray SYSTEM
VERSATILE STAGED BIOLOGICAL ODOR CONTROL SYSTEM |
Bay Products OdorDigest BioTray (ODBT) is a line of staged tray systems capable of removing odorous compounds from a variety of sources. The ODBT model line is a new approach that offers many advantages over other biological filter systems. They are primarily used for lower flow applications such as lift and pump stations and are capable of treating a variety of odorous compounds. It consists of an FRP vessel of a variety of sizes with a variety of different medias placed on a media support system of removable FRP trays with FRP media gating that promotes even air distribution. The ODBT offers the following benefits:
- Lowest operational costs
- Simple operation
- Can utilize a wide variety of media and mixtures of media for specific treatment needs
- Highly effective in treating a wide variety of odorous compounds
- Multiple stages for different medias for complete odor control
- Interchangeable trays for uniform aging and biomas control
- Smiple and easy to install
|
SERVICEABILITY
Once the media becomes compacted based on high-pressure drop monitored by a differential gauge or performance is reduced, remove the top, and replace media in each layer.
MEDIA OPTIONS
The unique feature of the ODBT is that it can incorporate a variety of media options. Each media has a specific characteristic that makes it optimal for the specific applications. The standard medias offered are:
- Wood Clips/Compost Mixtures – A very popular media that offers a lot of flexibility for treatment of a variety of odorous compounds. The media has special buffers and additives to help with the media longevity and effectiveness.
- Lava Rock – A low cost media that is usually used for hydrogen sulfide treatment. Lava rock last for many years and does not suffer from compaction like wood chips/compost mixtures.
- Long Life Media (BPI’s BioOdorSorb) – Bay Products has developed a media that incorporates a highly porous surface with a coating that provides nutrients, buffering agents and adsorptive sites for optimal heterotrophic bacteria growth. Media like is as long as 10 years.

PROCESS DESCRIPTION
Air is pulled from the bottom through whereby odorous air enters the top of the ODBT and diffuses down through the media that supports biological activity. The odors are adsorbed in the biomass of the biological activity and consumed. Moisture and/or heat are added, if required, through overhead spray system, an in-line humidifier or in-line heater. The ODBT is comes with compost/wood chips mixtures or and long life porous media (BPI’s BioOdorSorb) as its’ standard media. The vessel and humidifier is insulated to help maintain temperatures close to the Mesophilic range.
